AI , An Inevitable Intelligence

Why is Artificial Intelligence “inescapable” today? Is it a “necessary evil” or a world of no return? To what extent is it a continuation of other, non-human forms of perception? Is it the fruit of the artificial or perhaps the natural evolution of life in the universe? What can a machine’s brain think? Does it understand moral or political will? As the new ecosystem of increasingly critical questions spreads out like a circuit of interconnected neurons, we enter deeper and deeper into the labyrinth of a different way of thinking. Like an escape room from which we struggle to break free, a thalamus at the center of a brain that never stops giving commands, or a room in a smart home where everything is interconnected, this publication attempts to provide an overview of the different types of discourse around and beyond AI, compiles the glossary of this new dialect, and provides a plan view of the central tribute of the 27th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival.
