Jacques Demy

Special anniversary issue of Cahiers du Cinema in… Greek, which was created on the occasion of a retrospective tribute called “The magical world of Jacques Demy”, as part of the celebration for the 50 years of the French magazine. The publication, following the editorial by Michel Demopoulos on the idea behind this tribute and the relationship between Jacques Demy and Cahiers, starts with a special text for the purposes of the publication by Thierry Jousse. Following is an informative general text by Soti Triantafyllou, a series of texts about the director -published in Cahiers- and two interviews with Catherine Deneuve (discovered by Demy) and the composer Michel Legrand (constant collaborator). The publication closes with his filmography, reviewed by French and Greek film critics (Alexandros Moumtzis, Dimitris Babas, Alexis Dermentzoglou, Giannis Bakogiannopoulos, Babis Aktsoglou, Thodoros Soumas, Maria Gavala). The only “Greek” issue of Cahiers du Cinema. A rare and collectible publication.
